Sudan is planning to irrigate 170,000 hectares of land along the Nile River.
According to the Financial Times, A Company Called Dal Group is working to develop irrigation in the vast desert region of northeastern Sudan.
Daal Group chairman Osman Daoud said the area was deserted, but greening is now changing the ecosystem.
“We have the Nile River, we have many other rivers, we have rainwater in the same way,” he said.
The company will work with the Royal Group of Dubai for the $ 225 million project in Abu Hamad, Sudan.
An 18-kilometer canal will be built draw water from the Nile River for the cultivation of 10 km from the Nile River.
